El Palacio is a quarterly magazine dedicated to telling stories about art, history, and culture of the Southwest. The magazine features the divisions of New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. It is the oldest museum magazine of its kind, first published in 1913 by the Museum of New Mexico.

The name refers to the Museum of New Mexico’s first home in the historic Palace of the Governors on the Santa Fe Plaza. The magazine continues to cover the art, culture, and history of the Southwest as reflected in the exhibits, public programs, and scholarship of the Department of Cultural Affairs’ divisions across the state. We invite you to read more and subscribe to this incredible magazine.
